Description
Keum Boo is the ancient Korean technique of gilding pure gold onto silver. Not to be confused with gold leafing on wood objects using adhesives, this technique establishes the context for an exchange of electrons at a specific temperature creating a permanent diffusion bond. The pieces can be worked further after the bonding process, including deforming the shapes or adding add texture.
In this tutorial, students will have the opportunity to produce two small pendants employing two application processes onto a sheet of silver. We will also have extra materials available if students want to add more projects to this class.
February 22nd 10am-5pm $290
Materials included to make two small pendants.
